Toyota to debut second C-HR compact SUV concept at 2015 Frankfurt motor show

Toyota will unveil a second concept version of its C-HR compact SUV at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show.

There has been no teaser image or any official details on the second concept version of the Toyota C-HR (the first version teaser is shown above), but the Japanese company has made it clear that just like the first one, the second concept will be hybrid-powered.

“Frankfurt also marks the global debut of the second Toyota C-HR Concept hybrid crossover” the company said in a release, with the reveal of this concept taking place alongside the new-generation Prius that will also debut at the German show.

Toyota has stated in the past that the C-HR concept will lead to a production version being built, likely with five doors and a more practically-styled body, and that model will compete in the booming small SUV segment alongside the Honda HR-V, Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and others.

At the Paris motor show last year, CarAdvice spoke with Karl Schlicht, managing officer and executive vice president of Toyota Motor Europe’s sales group. Schlicht confirmed the plans for a production version of the C-HR.

“The C-HR is obviously exaggerated, it’s a concept car. Stretched, bigger wheels, whatever – but something like that we’re going to do. We’re serious about it, yes,” Schlicht said.
