Toyota has announced plans to recall the 2011-2016 Sienna, addressing an issue involving the rear doors.
In certain situations, if the sliding door automatic opening operation is impeded, the door motor circuit can overload and blow a fuse.
“If this occurs when the door latch is in an unlatched position, the door could open while driving, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant,” the company warns.
Engineers are still developing a remedy for the condition. Notification letters are expected to be distributed by mid-January.
The issue is said to affect approximately 744,000 vehicles in the US market.
