The Paris Motor Show is just around the corner but it appears Toyota is saving some of their best concepts for the Tokyo Motor Show which kicks off in October.
According to Japan’s Best Car magazine, the automaker will use the event to introduce an all-new open-wheel sports car called the Midget. Nothing is official but the model will reportedly be influenced by the Lotus Seven and feature a three-seat interior with a McLaren F1-style seating arrangement.
Power will reportedly be provided by a hybrid 1.5-liter engine that is backed up by a rear-mounted electric motor. There’s no word on performance specifications but the model is expected to weigh about 700 kg (1543 lbs).
