Toyota issues two recalls for Sienna, Rav4, Lexus RX/ES 350

Toyota has issued two recall campaigns, one for the 2016 Sienna and a second affecting the latest Rav4, Lexus ES 350 and RX 350.

The Sienna may have been manufactured with the incorrect front seatbelt height adjuster on B-pillar. The defect potentially allows the adjuster to separate in a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

The Rav4 and Lexus models are outfitted with a brake actuator assembly that works with the ABS, traction control and stability control systems. A component inside the actuator may have been damaged during manufacturing, preventing the actuator from opening properly.

“This could cause a loss of vehicle stability control, increasing the risk of crash,” the company warns.

It is unclear if either of the defects has been associated with any accidents or injuries. The campaigns affect a total of 16,890 vehicles sold in the US market.
