Toyota is back again for the Broccoli City Festival
With just a little over a week away, anticipation is at an all-time high for the annual Broccoli City Festival. I am sure that some of you are asking, what is the Broccoli City Festival? Well, the Broccoli City Festival is a social venture of Broccoli City, with a mission to promote living a healthier more environmentally sustainable lifestyle in cool and relevant ways. The Broccoli city team has a mission to gather people of all walks of life and give them a fun experience, while empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and environment.
The lineup for the show this year consists of Sango, BJ the Chicago Kid, Rare Essence, Pinky Killacorn, Reesa Renee, The Internet, Jhene Aiko, Future and many more. The show will be hosted by Rock Creek Social clubs own Kevin “Unkle Scooty” Hallums and Washington Wizards arena host Rodney Rikai. A live art installation will be curated by No Kings DC. Partners of the event are Toyota, Pepsi, Lyft, Shoe City, Reebok and CBS Radio. BC Fest will take place from noon to 10 p.m on Saturday April 30th, 2016, rain or shine.
Tickets are sold out for the event but you can still win a ticket by listening to Sunni on WPGC 95.5 during her midday shift from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. There is also a way to earn a ticket through the Power of One campaign. The Power of One is a campaign of Broccoli City Inc. 501c(3) that is engaging millennials to help build their communities by being active participants through community service actions. Participants that sign up to help with these community events will receive one (1) Power of One Priority Pass (General Admission) to Broccoli City Festival.
For the third year in a row District Running Collective (DRC) has teamed up with Broccoli City to host the official Broccoli City Festival 5K Run! New this year, the #BCFest5K will take place on April 24th to officially kick off Broccoli City Festival week activities. Sign up at www.bcfest5k.com . You can win two tickets by participating in this run as well.
I am eager to see what Toyota has in store for this event, as they put together a great activation last year, along with ushering in Lance Gross to enjoy the festivities. If you need a ride to the show, download the Lyft app and enter code BCFEST2016 for the Lyft discount. To get you in the mood for #BCFEST2016, Lakim of Soulection brings you the official BCFEST mix.
