Toyota Fortuner Revealed In The Metal Ahead Of Australian Arrival

Pictures of Toyota’s 2016 Fortuner 4WD have been captured in Thailand, ahead of an expected arrival in Australia later this year, or early next.

Facebook fan page Ferd has posted the images, which appear to reveal the 2016 Fortuner from all angles – including a shot of the interior.

The pics show a Toyota SUV wagon without camouflage and with a grille and lines suggesting the HiLux ute upon which the Fortuner is based.

The rear styling though appears to have borrowed from the Kluger with long, thin tail-lights placed high in the waistline.

Interior styling also sways towards the new HiLux – particularly with the layout of the centrally-mounted touchscreen and air-vents.

No question about it, these images give a much clearer look at the new model than the grainy leaked images revealed in March of this year. And what you are looking at here is certainly the real deal; the upcoming Toyota Fortuner.

As for Australia, the all-new 2016 HiLux put in an Australian appearance in May ahead of its local arrival in October.

At that time, the carmaker’s Australian arm confirmed the Fortuner would be coming to local showrooms in the near future adding yet another genuine off-roader to the local Toyota stables.

The Fortuner will join the LandCruiser, HiLux, Prado and FJ Cruiser in Toyota’s 4WD line-up for Australia, offering Toyota buyers an alternative to the other ‘ute-based’ SUV wagons on the local market.

Such models include the Holden Colorado 7, Mitsubishi Challenger and the Isuzu MU-X, while Ford’s new Everest will expand the market even further when it arrives.
