Toyota Could Have as Many as 30 Cars In Its U.S. Lineup By Next Year

2015 Toyota range

Toyota sells a lot of cars here in the U.S. Next year it could be selling even more with the folding up of Scion and the addition of some new vehicles. With that in mind, I went and did some quick adding up of all the cars in Toyota’s lineup—including models rumored to be on sale in 2017, all the former Scions, and variations of cars currently on sale.

The final tally was 30 different cars available to American buyers under the Toyota badge by next year. That’s right, 30. Here’s how it breaks down.

Confirmed

These are the cars we know will 100% be in the Toyota lineup going into 2017. Prius, Corolla, Camry—you know, the regular stuff. These cars alone make up 70% of Toyota’s vehicles.

Possible

These are the cars that may or may not be available to buyers in 2017. The Land Cruiser and Sequoia, for example, seem like they’ve both run their course. So if Toyota dropped them before 2017, it wouldn’t be a surprise.

Others like the Rav4 TRD, Supra, and small convertible, are heavily rumored to arrive by next year, but Toyota hasn’t officially confirmed anything.

Formerly Scion

These are all the cars that once wore a Scion badge, and will now be donning Toyota gear for the 2017 model year. Other than the FR-S, Scion truly didn’t have much to offer. The iA and iM were respectable, and will continue to be, while the C-HR came to market three years too late—now it will wear a Toyota badge.
