This time around Toyota has given the RZ a sporty handling package as well as visual upgrades, delivering a claimed $4000 of extra value for just $2000 more than the entry-level Camry Altise.
RZ upgades include 18-inch alloy wheels as seen on the Camry Atara SX, with a gloss black finish, along with the SX’s sports suspension and faster steering rack.
Mechanical changes also include the Camry Atara’s dual exhaust system, which provides a 2kW/4Nm power bump (135kW/235Nm in total).
On the outside, the Camry RZ wears a black mesh grille, black housings for the halogen headlights, a boot-lip spoiler, rear bumper insert and rear lip spoiler, all given the gloss blackout tratment.
Inside, the Camry RZ gains Toyota’s three-spoke “premium” steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster display, keyless entry with push-button start and RZ-branded floor mats.
And, of course, there are the obligatory RZ decals on the rear doors and bootlid.
Production of the 2016 Camry RZ will be capped at 1100 units, priced from $28,490 plus on roads, with premium paint an extra $450.
