Teaser shows Lexus Tokyo concept that could hint at the next LS

Lexus Tokyo teaser

The 2015 Tokyo Motor Show is just around the corner, and among the variety of wild and wacky concepts Lexus will be showing a preview design for a new model. Teased in this sneaky close-up of a head light, it could show what to expect from the new LS.

While there’s very little else given away by the new image, the headlamp design is very similar to that of the newly facelifted GS. The Japanese firm claims the concept will “capture the company’s vision of progressive luxury” but doesn’t add any more detail than that.

Given that the current LS is one of the older models in Lexus’ seven-strong range (it’s the oldest other than the CT200h), there’s every possibility we could see a luxury saloon design with features that will, in two or three years time, filter down into a next-gen production LS.

As well as an updated exterior and cabin design, we can expect a raft of new tech on offer that will help the next LS take on the gizmo-filled new BMW 7-Series. Autonomous driving tech is likely to take a step forward, while Toyota‘s progress in hybrid powertrains should see a new ‘h’ model with more power and reduced emissions.
