Refreshed Toyota Yaris arriving in the United Kingdom image
The Japanese automaker has recently announced the 2016 Yaris has been introduced to the United Kingdom, sporting a series of updates and improvements.
The supermini will be offered with a completely new Design grade level, which is available when opting for the five-door version mated to the 1.33 VVT-i petrol, 1.4 D-4D diesel, and hybrid powertrain choices. This new trim will boast numerous standard features and amenities, such as dual-zone climate control (hybrid only), 16-inch alloys in black or machined coating, LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, as well as cruise control, DAB tuner, Bluetooth, parking camera, etc. The 2016 Yaris can also be had with a couple of new optional bundles – the Convenience Pack and the Premium Pack. The former will be mated to gasoline and diesel Design variants and will add $1,440 (£950) to the car’s price to feature automatic headlights and wipers, keyless entry, auto-folding door mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and push-button start. The latter Premium Pack will be offered in conjunction with the Excel Hybrid version and for $1,660 (£1,095) will grant the customer access to a panoramic roof, rear spoiler, keyless entry, auto-folding door mirrors, or the Toyota Touch 2 with Go navigation.
The 2016 model year update comes without changes on the technical side, meaning the Yaris will still sport the same range of power plants. Gasoline options are the 1.0 and 1.5 VVT-i units mated to the 5- and 6-speed manuals or the Multidrive S gearbox. The 1.4 D4D diesel is only offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and the 1.5 VVT-i Hybrid comes with a CVT. Prices start from 11,495 pounds ($17,430) and first deliveries are slated for the latter part of the month.
