Compact luxury-crossovers are BIG business these days and two of the movers and shakers in this fast-growing segment are the Lexus NX and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
But which of these machines would YOU rather own? Well, you can compare them directly right here, but here’s a quick breakdown of what they have to offer.
The Lexus rolls along on a 104.7-inch wheelbase and features a 2.0-liter turobcharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 235 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission handles shifting duties and can route torque to either the front wheels or all four corners.
In comparison, the Mercedes-Benz GLC features a wheelbase of 113.1. Like its Japanese rival, this German thoroughbred also features a 2.0-liter turbo under its hood. Mercedes’ engineering squeezes 241 horsepower out of this displacement along with 271 units of twist. One-upping the Lexus, or rather three-upping it, the GLC features a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
