Lexus GS facelift photographed in the metal for the first time

Following its official premiere at Pebble Beach, the refreshed Lexus GS has been photographed for the first time.

These live photos courtesy of tipster Ferd reveal the visual changes are actually pretty minor. The only easily notable improvements occur at the front end where the Japanese manufacturer has installed a more aggressive fascia and redesigned headlights with bi-LED technology. The GS facelift is also available with several new exterior and interior colors.

Probably the biggest news for the model is the new 2.0-liter turbo engine, found in the 200t rear-wheel drive version. The same unit also powers the RC 200t and NX 200t and generates 241 bhp (180 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. It is mated exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring an estimated fuel efficiency of 33 mpg US (39.6 mpg UK or 7.1 liters / 100 km) on the highway.
