Lexus flagship coupe LC 500 treated to racecar livery – hopefully it will become real image
While the North American International Auto Show in Detroit is still in full swing, one of the stars of the event is already out of the “bag” – the Lexus LC 500 high performance luxury coupe.
And since we’re usually indulging in our “guilty pleasure” of presenting wannabe model renders only when they’re really important (ok, we also call them when they’re just for fun, hence the “guilt”) we decided the LC 500 treated as a racecar version actually fits both aforementioned categories. We do have here a professional level job as the balanced design of the regular model has not been lost or ruined – even though for track purposes we are treated here to a noticeably aggressive aerodynamic pack. This is of course just an utopic render for now but if history has taught us something it’s the expression “never say never” has deep roots in every aspect of our lives.
And since we lived to see the LFA taken to the drag strip we can certainly envision the possibility of the latest flagship coupe from Lexus being treated to a version by the automaker’s motorsport unit – Gazoo Racing. This name might sound new to you – because Toyota and Lexus’ own motorsport divisions having reunited under this banner since last year only. While already the RC F GT3 racecar has been presented to the public, we think the LC 500 also has a good chance to get paid a visit by the Gazoo Racing engineers – mostly thanks to that new modular platform that throws in carbon fiber reinforced polymer, aluminum, and high-strength steel for a superior performance even to LFA’s all-carbon structure.
