Is This Worthy Of Being A Lexus LFA Replacement?

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter You can forget about it having a V10. We reported several months ago that Lexus has given the production green light to the gorgeous Lexus LF-LC concept. Would this be a successor to the now iconic LFA? Not so much, but the production LF-LC will certainly become a new halo car for the luxury brand. And now, according to Lexus Enthusiast who picked up on a Yahoo! Taiwan report, the production LF-LC is apparently taking shape fairly quickly. Supposedly, it’ll weigh between 3,200 to 3,400 lbs, a little less than the LFA despite being a larger car.

Engineers would make that possible thanks to a lightweight body made from aluminum-magnesium alloy and carbon fiber. Other features will include quad-tailpipes, 20-inch alloy wheels, a large panoramic glass roof, voice heads-up display device and a new Remote Touch controller. The likely F-Sport variant will have 21-inch wheels and a speed adjustable rear spoiler. Speaking of speed, two engine options could be on offer: a 3.6-liter V6 hybrid with a combined 400 hp, 47 mpg, and a 0-62 time of 5.5 seconds, and a 5.0-liter turbo V8 with 550 hp, 26 mpg, and a 4.5 second 0-62 time. The latter may also feature a 10-speed gearbox. So is any of this information true? We certainly hope so.
