Toyota says the range starting price of $45,490 (four-cylinder GLi) has not been seen since the 1990s while the entry-level V6 model, the Tarago GLi V6 now at $50,490, is the lowest price ever for the V6.
Now standard across the Toyota Tarago range are satellite navigation, a reversing camera and the emergency brake signal (flashes the hazard lights when braking heavily).
Inside Toyota has given the Tarago an injection of style with new soft-touch material for the dashboard and some high-gloss piano black highlights.
There’s also new instrumentation with a colour 4.2-inch multi-information screen, a semi-circular speedometer and horizontal rev-counter.
Also noticeable is a new three-spoke steering wheel.
Centre console sees a 6.1-inch touchscreen for the satellite navigation and audio.
Toyota Tarago V6 GLX and Ultima pick-up new premium quilted seat trims with those in the V6 equipped with two-stage heaters. All other models run grey cloth seats.
While engines now comply with Euro 5 emissions standards, fuel consumption is unchanged.
