For the 2016 model year, the Lexus LX 570 receives a face-lift so thorough that Lexus claims only the SUV’s door panels carry over from last year. With a new spindle grille nose, LED headlights, restyled front and rear fascias, and new wheel designs, the 2016 Lexus LX 570 looks significantly more modern than the outgoing version.

The visual freshening brings the 2016 Lexus LX 570 in line with the rest of the luxury marque’s lineup, most models in which have already adopted the bold and polarizing spindle grille shape. Other visual tweaks update the interior, including new wood trim options, a new three-spoke wood-trimmed steering wheel, and a new analog clock. A new Drive Mode Select switch allows drivers to tailor the LX 570’s driving performance and air suspension to various driving styles. While the LX 570’s 5.7-liter V-8 engine is unchanged, at 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque, it’s now mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission instead of the outgoing six-speed. It’s now estimated to return 13/18 mpg (city/highway), up from 12/17 mpg for the 2015 model. The 2016 Lexus LX 570 also adds Lexus Safety System+ as standard, which combines a pre-collision braking system, lane-departure alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Other new technologies include a new 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Lexus’ Remote Touch controller, a standard 360-degree camera, LED ambient lighting, an optional Qi wireless smartphone charging tray, and an optional head-up display. Look for pricing for the 2016 Lexus LX 570 at a later date. The 2015 model starts at $85,060 with destination.
