Hi all,
I have a standard Japan 1990 Toyota Corolla FX-GT (maybe GTS in the US),
3dr, manual with
the 96kw (130hp) 4A-GE. I am just wondering does anyone know the 0-60mph
time and the top speed of this hatch? Much appreciated.

Actually it was built in Freemont California at NUMMI plant, and if its
the FX-16 GT(S), it does have the 4AGE, or MR2 engine. I’ve only seen an
FX16 GTS, never an FX GT?

To reply, change the "O" (oh) to a zero in "4O"

HA HA HA HA! The Corolla FX is a combine effort of Toyota and GM at their
Kentucky( i think) plant in the US. These we’re not produced abroad. The Gt is
just an optioned out version it has the same stuff as a regular FX with a few
"luxury"items. As for its 0-60 it would probably compare to a Tercel of that
era.
Hi
The Corolla FX-GT comes from Japan, where there is an entire range. 1300cc,
1500cc, 1600cc 4A-GE. The New Zealand equivalent is the Corolla GTi.

Sorry, just that the FX is considered a "GM heap of junk" here in WI. Also of
note however it has a 4ALC or 4AGELC engine in it produced in North America
from 9-86 to 8-88. Early MR2′s carried the 4AGELC( from 12-84 to 12-89).This I
would assume not mean that the FX would have the same stats as an MR2 on the
basis of the engine positioning, and weight.
Parts Guy(for lack of a yet un-certified ranking in Toyota)
I’m not sure where they get their info but the FX-GT is the domestic
name for the japanese. It also has a 4A-GEU not the 4A-GELC(4A-GELC is
only available in US and is rated at 112hp). I am also assuming that
since it’s a 90′s, it has no T-VIS and it’s rated at 130hp(narrow port
engine). I drove an 87 FX-GT while I lived in Japan. It was pretty
quick.Though I never got timed(1/4 mile) I know for a fact the cars are
lighter and more powerful in Japan(typical of japanese sporty cars). It
probably runs a mid to low 15′s in 1/4 mile.
