Gas Mileage

I was curious how other people do on Gas mileage.  I have a 1991 4×4 p/u
22re.  I get 17-19mpg, avg.  If any one else has about the same truck and
engine I would appreciate it if you could let me know how you do on gas
mileage.  Thanks!

20R head will fit on 22R block up to mid 84 when they went to a
different deck height. If you have emissions to tangle with look at the
head and make sure it has air injection ports on the exhaust side (if
you are carbed)  Use the timing chain set for Pre 83 20R/22R this will
give you double chain and metal guides.  If you go with the 20R head and
you have EFI now, you will need to either find a machine shop to
fabricate an intake manifold, or weld, redrill, and port the stock 22RE
manifold. If not then use a 20R intake and make an adapter for a 22R
carb (they flow better) Or invest in a decent weber.  The best Exhaust
manifold to use (if you don’t have emissions) is the 22RE, it has no air
injection ports on top and will bolt onto the 20R head. Dist all will
bolt on, the 22RE has a different curve than the carbed models, fuel
pumps should match.  Water pumps should all be the same. When you go
with the 20R/22R hybrid your compression goes to about 10:1 .  Hope that
    helps.

Stupid question: what are air injection ports?

Hmmmm, I did nto knwo that.  Why did they change?

Talking about Wevers, where are their model numbers?

            Cool =)

So, you mean a 22RE waterpump works with, say, a 20R block and
    vice-versa?
