Once and only once, my Camry had a LOT of trouble starting. It took several
tries and a lot of pumping (which I NEVER have to do). The only thing I can
figure is that it happened because I didn’t use it for 4 days. It is used
almost every day and has 75,000 miles. Other than that, the car runs
flawlessly.
Any ideas?

Did the "pumping" really do any good? I didn’t think pedal pumping had
any effect on a FI engine (as it does on some carb engines – i.e. ones
with accel pumps).
Perhaps your throttle position sensor (or connections) was bad?
I was willing to try anything at the time. It started to kick over once I
started pumping. I had visions of my (now sold) 1987 Corolla FX which was
extremely hard starting.
