(OT) The Long Arm of Government just got longer …

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_chrysler_analysis

<quote>
But as part of Thursday’s arrangement, the government will be an investor in
the new Chrysler company, and the Treasury Department will select four of
its new directors, all of them presumably sympathetic with the White House’s
vision of what the car of the future should be.

That’s because Dems don’t worship our leaders.  We don’t need to bask
in their presence every chance we get.  These press conferences are
for the 24 hour cable news cycle and other politicians.  If you read a
decent newspaper (Financial Times) all those questions and answers are
old news.  Besides, "Lie to me" was on and it is one of my TV guilty
pleasures.

{OT:} Why Vets Are Backing Clean Energy

Why Vets Are Backing Clean Energy

This week, VoteVets.org has gone up on the air in four districts (and
has more planned) with television ads backing the American Clean
Energy and Security Act, sponsored by Reps. Waxman and Markey. The
ads, all like this one, use local Iraq veterans urging Reps. Jim
Matheson (D-UT), John Barrow (D-GA), Gene Green (D-TX), and Charlie
Melancon (D-LA) to vote for the legislation.

Some might be doing a double take. Why would veterans get involved in
a fight over renewable energy and efficiency? Well, for those of us
who served, fighting terrorists and insurgents, supporting the bill is
a no-brainer.

It has been well documented that terror organizations around the world
gain funding from sources in oil rich nations in the Middle East. In
fact, just two weeks after the September 11 attacks, Assistant
Secretary of Energy David Garman said, "It is clear that our reliance
on imported oil — 56% of the oil we use – has complicated our
response to the terrorist attack. There is also little doubt that some
of the dollars we have exported in exchange for foreign oil have found
their way into the hands of terrorists and would-be terrorists."

{OT:} Waterboard Dick!!!

 Bradley Whitford.

Waterboard Dick!!!

Poor Dick Cheney.

Free at last from The Bunker and ready, as always, to do whatever it
takes to protect the United States of America, he’s seen the vital
information that proves that waterboarding works, but, doggone it, the
country went and elected this softy-brainiac guy who just doesn’t "get
it" the way George Bush did, and doesn’t want to release it.

Obama’s such a wuss, he’s making it sound like America doesn’t have
the guts to torture people anymore.

What’s a patriot to do?

It would be illegal to leak classified intelligence himself. Dick
Cheney has too much respect for the rule of law to do something like
that.

But waterboarding works. American lives are at stake. And Dick Cheney
has the all the information we need.

Open your ears America! Are you so jaded you can no longer hear the
patriot’s call? He’s begging us. The time has come.

Waterboard Dick!!!

Actual Toyota question……..Seriously…..;0)

I have a 2002 Highlander Special Edition hooey blah blah. My wife
noticed grinding when she was breaking. I looked at all the rotors & 3
of them were nice & smooth. The left front on the other hand had serious
grinding gouging type marks on the entire circumference of the "top"
edge of the rotor, about a half inch thicknes. i mean it really dug into
the metal, on only this one rotor.

I also noticed when I finally drove it before this that when I braked
lets says coming off of a ramp stopping from like 60mph the front end of
the truck would "vibrate" pretty seriously.

Im taking it to the mechanic in the morning & hopefully someone can give
me some info before than tonight on what may be the cause of both
issues. I don’t know if the grinding was the result of what I noticed
weeks before so maybe its not related. Someone mentioned to me tie rods
may be the cause of the vibrating or warped rotor maybe?

Thanks guys, would appreciate any info…….Its not politics for
once……..:0)
