The car won’t do a cold start despite the starter motor turning over. It
will only start the second time around. Cold injector, wiring connections,
vacumm lines all are in satisfactory condition. My dad’s 87 Toyota Camry
sedan has problems with a cold start. The starter
spins the motor, but it doesn’t start until the next attempt. Once run,
starting is fine for the rest of the day. So far, we’ve checked/observed:
Cold start sensor - within limits (is 3.2 Ohms)
Spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap replaced
Throttle cable/cruise control linkage lubricated; looks ok, not sticking.
General visual inspection under hood ok; wiring and vacuum lines look ok.
Once warm, car runs fine; no rough idle or start problems.
I’m not car wiz, but suggested cleaning fuel injectors; could that be the
problem?
We would apprecate any suggestions.
Thanks!
