1993 V-6 P.U. Maint. Recommendations?

I have a 1993 V-6 4 x 4 Extra Cab that I maintain fairly well.  Being
that it costs quite a bit of dollars at the mechanix for the maintenance
that I do not perform, does anyone have recommendations/opinions on the
following (15K or 30K).  I have heard differing opinions from the dealer
and my local mechanic.:

1) Spark Plugs

2) Fuel Filter

3) Drive Train Lubricants

4) Coolant/Antifreeze

5) Valve Adjustments

6) Timing Belt

7) Emissions Control

8) Any other routine recommendations?

Thank you in advance

Steam coming out from the rear pipe

Hello:

        I have a 1993 Camry(V6). Recently I noticed that the muffler
has quite a few steam(I live in Washington area) coming out
even the engine is hot. My friend’s Camry(also V6) does not
have that mush steam. The paint on bumper right above
the muffler starts to fade away a little bit. The car is running
like the first day I purchased it. Is there any problems that I
should start to look at them? Appreciate for all the help.

Buying Japanese import 300ZX in the UK

I’m seriously considering buying an imported 300ZX TT via a personal import
company here in the UK.

My reasons:  The lack of good cars for the sale in the UK
                Better value for money (apparently)
Lower mileage and higher spec cars available via this
route

I have spent 4 months looking for the right car in Scotland without much
luck.  The import companies seem to be able to offer a low mileage car with
full history and warranty at very competitive prices. I am told that the
car can be serviced at any main dealer as a UK purchased car might be.

Can anyone give advice on the likely pitfalls of buying a car via this
route ? (aside from the obvious language probs with the documentation)

Anyone have any good / bad experiences of importers in UK or anywhere?

Thanks in advance…

Jim

89 Camry LE half shaft

I have a 1989 Camry LE 4Cyl. front wheel drive, made in USA.
Serial number starts with 4T1. Does anyone know if it is a plug-in or
bolt on type? If it is a plug in type is there a retainer of some kind
holding the inboard joint in place? My manual only shows the bolt on
type.
Thanks in advance.

Oil light comes on, can't figure out why.

My mother has a 90 Corolla 185,000 km Automatic transmission (eeeuuw), she
has been good at changing the oil and filter at regular intervals.  The car
starts fine, oil light quickly flicks (as it should right?) on and off, but
later when the motor is warm and idling the oil light appears. As soon as
you ever so slightly touch the gas, it goes away, very sensitive.  No one
has been able to pinpoint what it is.  Any one with a a similar experience?
Is it the sensor or what?  How is it cured? Thanks allot in advance.

CA smogger & advance (Don't dwell on it).

85 p’up 22R, carb automatic. Poor economy and then some.
Went for smog test. Tech said my timing was 5 deg ATDC. He changed it to
5 deg BTDC.
Passed test. No dyno software yet. (Of course they charged the new
price!)
Please predict changes I will observe.
And Rick, it is "says" not "sais."   You spell like my nephew, another
great wrench.

remove ACORNED SWILL   (if it’s there; probably not).
Thanks

Burned out radio light

I have an ’85 Cressida and the radio light is burned out. In pulling out
the radio and looking for the light bulb the only thing I can see is
what looks like an led light soldered onto the circuit board. Is this
correct? If so, is it repairable? Thanks, Bob

Defeat starter cut-out- 86 Cressida?

Is it possible to defeat the anti-theft feature that kills the starter
circuit when the alarm sounds?  My old 86 Cressida is no longer burgler
bait and periodically triggers the alarm during normal door unlocking.
I can turn the alarm off quickly, but the starter cut-out had me messing
with it in a below zero wind chill for an hour last night.  Any ideas on
a fix for the problem or a method of knocking out the starter kill
feature?  Thanks in advance.  Regards,  RossFos
