Hi all,
I have a standard Japan 1990 Toyota Corolla FX-GT (maybe GTS in the US),
3dr, manual with
the 96kw (130hp) 4A-GE. I am just wondering does anyone know the 0-60mph
time and the top speed of this hatch? Much appreciated.

Hi there:
I’ve got a 97 Toyota Camry LE, 4 cyl with a couple of nagging
problems. After about 6K miles (and cooler fall weather) it started
making a whining noise when the engine was cold. I think it’s
pretty loud after all the hype on the Camry being so quiet. Also, this
car fogs up in a heart-beat. I’ve noticed that the AC doesn’t drip
water very much or at all. I think it’s retaining (rententive!) AC
condensation water, which creates a lot of humity when I turn on the
heater. The local dealer has not been sympathetic or understanding
of my concerns. They actually told me I should run the AC year round to
keep the windows from fogging and adjust the thermostat as needed!
On the 3rd visit I got a mechanic to acknowledge that it was making the
noise and then they came back and said that all the Camrys made this
noise! Well it didn’t make that noise when I bought the car and now I’m
beginning to feel sorry I did. Anyway if you have had a similar
experience, I would appreciate any advise or co-miseration you would
care to share.
Thanks, Tom

This just a note regarding potential problem if you are planning
to purchase a new Toyota Corolla 1998.
I baught a new Toyota Corolla 1998 just 5 days ago for my wife.
To my utter surprise, the reverse gear on the 4 speed automatic
does not engage properly and the car moves in the forward
direction instead of going in the reverse direction.
My car has only 80 KM and Toyota wants me to bring it
back and the leave that car at the dealership to fix the
transmission. If I have to leave the car at the dealership
for repair in the first week itself, I don’t know how
Toyota can even talk about quality.
I will never ever buy a Toyota vehicle again (which I
unfortunately did, despite my friend asking me to stick with
reliable Honda’s). The attitude of the Toyota management stinks.
They think once car is out of Toyota dealership, all problems
are yours to live with. They couldn’t care less.
Cheers.

I have a friend very interested in finding a supercharged MR2, in very
good condition, and must be the "Square" body style. I believe he
said that’s ’88/’89, correct me if I’m wrong. Black preferred, but
open to other colors. New England area preferred, but any that can
supply good pics/documentation considered.
Thanks

I have a malfunctioning blower relay in my 1986 corolla (4 dr, hatch 1.6
engine).
The part number is 85913-30020
At this point I am using a wire to connect the two power leads. Will this
cause any long term damage? Is there a fuse or breaker in the system to
prevent overload problems?
I have noticed that one of the main functions of the relay is to shut the
blower motor off when the ignition is off. With the two wires I have to
manually disconnect them to get the blower motor to shut off. Actual;ly,
the fan works fine other than that – at all 4 speeds, etc.
Does anyone have such a part at a reasonable used price? Otherwise I may
just go with the wires
I have the dardnest time replacing the spark plugs on my 1993 V-6 pickup
and was told that there’s a special ratchet/extension/swivel spark plug
socket specially made for the Toyota to solve this problem. Anyone know
where this/these tools can be purchased? Thank you.

We are interested in buying a Toyota Picnic very soon for towing a caravan.
Although it was rated quite highly in the Towcar of the year categories, I
have since found out that it has a 50kg towbar limit.
Toyota themselves say this is because of the assumption that there will be
two passengers seated over the rear axle.
Has this caused anyone any towing/suspension problems.
We will not be carrying more than 4 persons when towing, but currently carry
(on a Toyota Carina) two cycles on a towbar attachment, and would like to
continue this method of cycle transport.

Hello All,
I own an 88 Chevy Nova with a "dohc" 1.6 engine. Has about 144k miles
on it. This little tin can has run very well for me.
Problem is this. I recently did a regular tune up and then a short
time later it started to stumble or accelerate very roughly between
800 and 2000 rpm.
At idle, runs fine. Above 2000 runs fine. Just that in-between place
is a problem.
Anyone have a similiar problem or any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
