Critical Postings

I don’t think auto manufacturers should complain about critical postings
on the net as long as they are unresponsive to customer complaints and
When "Commitment to Customer Satisfaction" is their motto.

Lets use the newsgroups as leverage to keep the auto industry honest and
their quality at premium.

93 TOYOTA 4RUNNER TRANNY NOISE

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Does anybody experienced tranny noise (almost like a chatter) when
automatic tranny shifts from 2nd gear to Third gear but dissapears on the
fourth gear  after RPM drops down to about 2500 RPM. Also the shifter also
vibrates . I have a 93 4Runner V6 with 32k miles ,Just bought 3 weeks ago.

Also , is my truck was included in Cylinder Head Gasket TOYOTA recall?

Thank you in advance.

Toyota 4X4 Van

In the last two years, I’ve had 3 Toyota Vans: 86 2 Whl Drive Cargo, 87
4X4 Cargo, and 87 4X4 LE [with tinted windows, deluxe interior, seats
that fold into a bed, etc.].  Before that, for four years I drove a 4X4
Dodge 1 TON Maxi Van [Raised Roof, Camperized, PATHFINDER conversion to
4X4, 205 Transfer, 4.10 Posi,  Auto trans, V-8, 32" tires, etc.].  And
for a year, an 87 Samurai [with 30" Mud tires and a 6" axle over lift].
The Suzi was FANTASTIC off road, but under powered on road. I desperately
wanted a Ford V-6 or Sidekick 1300 cc engine swap. AND, it really  was
too small for cargo or camping. The Dodge was GREAT on hiways and logging
roads.  Unfortunately, it only got 10 MPG, and [at 7500 lbs. wt. and 8'
ht.] true "Off Roading" was definitely limited. BUT, I was be able to
drive down deserted logging roads, park the beast, and then walk around
inside [with almost every toy or tool I owned, stored conveniently in
some closet or cupboard]. So, I thought I "needed" both.  However, when I
got my 87 4X4 Toy LE Van, I finally found the ONE vehicle which matches
my lifestyle [off roading, with fold down bed, wife, dog, bikes, Klepper
Aerius II folding kayak, camping gear, etc.]  AND, with  88" wheelbase,
light weight, power steering, two speed transfer, 5 spd. trans, part time
hubs, decent power from the FI engine, 27"x 8.50"  6 ply 14" Wranglers,
it goes ALMOST anywhere the Suzi could. The 30+ MPG on the hiway, top
speed of 95 Mph, cruise control, power windows, stereo, dual heaters, are
great too.  But, as wonderful as my Toy Van is now, it could be better.
Anyone  out there have experience with REAL off roading in the 4X4 Toy
vans??  Any advice for improving offroad ability??  Any sources for
accessories like skid plates, bumpers, lifts, posi, and lower gearing,
etc??  Any idea of what Toy truck parts interchange?? Thanks,

Considering purchasing a 1990 GT-S with 105K.  Wandering if anyone has good
or bad experience with this model.   I own a 1986 ST with 175K that has been
a great car.

Any T100 owners?

I am looking at getting a T100.  I am hoping I can hear from someone who owns
one.  Just give me your likes and dislikes about the truck.

I appreciate your comments in advance.  Post to the group or E-mail direct.

Thanks,

mk

shopping for new Avalon

My wife and I will soon be shopping for a new Avalon XLE. What should I
pay for it? The only extra we want is a cd player. Can anyone advise?
Our credit union has a buying service. Is this the way to go? Advice
solicited and appreciated.
